A lawyer, according to Black's Caveat Dictionary, is "a being learned in the law; Seattle Attorney as an attorney, counsel or solicitor; a person licensed to procedure law." Decree is the red tape of rules of conduct established by the sovereign governance of a culture to correct wrongs, maintain stability, and deliver justice. Working as a lawyer involves the practical application of abstract fair theories and knowledge to solve specific individualized problems, or to advance the interests of those who retain (i.e., hire) lawyers to perform forensic services.
In most countries, particularly civil charge countries, there has been a tradition of giving crowded forensic tasks to a combo of civil canon notaries, clerks, and scriveners. These underdeveloped countries do not have "lawyers" in the American sense, insofar as that moniker refers to a single type of general-purpose legal military service provider; rather, their acknowledged professions consist of a excessive sign of law-trained persons, confessed as jurists, of which only some are advocates who are licensed to practice in the courts.
